Some of the new features presented today by the giant Google will initially be exclusive to the new Galaxy S25 and its Pixel 9 family

Just a few weeks ago we were talking about the love affair between Samsung and Google to continue working together on the development of Android XR and the Moohan project with Samsung’s first mixed reality glasses. Today, after Unpacked 2025 , we can confirm the good relations between the two companies. Not in vain, Google wanted to accompany Samsung with its Galaxy S25 by presenting exclusive Android and Gemini news that for now only Samsung’s flagship family will enjoy .
This is how we have seen from San Jose, California, and from the hand of a Google that has now also published it on its official blog , all these latest features implemented in Gemini , the AI assistant that recently released its Live version in Spanish . There are also new features for Android that you will like to know about , so now we will show you all of them!
All Android updates coming to the Galaxy S25 series | Google Blog
Gemini broadens horizons and becomes a multitasker
The first of these new features is so interesting that we can’t help but start by reviewing it. Gemini can now do several things at once, even in different applications . Google tells us that, for example, we can ask it to find restaurants in Maps and compose a text message with all the details to send to a contact through the Messages app.
Gemini Live also implements new features, now allowing you to not only talk to the chatbot but also add images, files or YouTube videos to conversations . This will allow multimodal AI to improve its human/machine interaction and allow us to better contextualize queries.
Not yet available but in development for the coming months , Google’s Project Astra promises screen sharing and live video streaming via Gemini.
Not only that, but on the recently launched Galaxy S25 we can activate Gemini from the side button instead of Bixby , something we can’t help but applaud. Google has even developed specific extensions of its assistant for Samsung apps such as the calendar, reminders or notes.

Circle to Search wants to be more useful on Android phones
It was the star feature of the last Unpacked 2024 related to AI, but this year Google wanted to go a step further so that we can start using Circle to Search more effectively on our Android phones.
So, starting with the Galaxy S25 and Pixel 9, we’ll see how the feature can recognize numbers, email addresses, and URLs so we can use them with just a tap.
In addition, Circle to Search’s AI summaries will offer us more context with more useful information, even linking to websites with information about trending places or products. Just circling them on the screen will allow us to get all the information instantly , although for now it is only implemented in English under the name of AI Overviews .

The Galaxy S25’s Now bar will offer contextual information like sports scores or Maps navigation directions
It is one of the features that has generated the most curiosity in me in this Unpacked, and the power of the new «Now» bar promises a lot with its active and contextualized notifications , which will even be functional on the lock screen.
This will allow us to check at a glance on our Galaxy S25 if our favourite team is playing and the result in real time, all without having to touch or unlock the smartphone. Tapping the card will open, in fact, all the information about the match with statistics and the latest news on Google Search.
In addition, the Mountain View giant reports that this «Now Bar» can save us time or mobility problems by showing us at a glance navigation directions from Google Maps , as well as relevant reminders and notifications about our upcoming appointments or traffic conditions on our usual routes.

Android improves accessibility thanks to AI
The latest developments, more related to the platform and its functionality, allow us to know that users of a Samsung Galaxy S25 will be able to enjoy the power of Gemini Nano integrated into the TalkBack functionality , thus offering more detailed descriptions of everything displayed by the operating system for people with vision problems. TalkBack 15 will also be compatible with braille displays that use HID connectivity.
In fact, energy-efficient wireless audio also gets better thanks to new enhancements to the Bluetooth protocol, with hands-free calling allowing for more personalized audio settings , now easy to use with low-latency connections for GN ReSound and Oticon hearing aids.
All of them are important news that Samsung and its Galaxy S25 will enjoy before anyone else, although for now we will also have to wait for the South Korean giant to begin shipping its flagship family, which they announce for the beginning of February… Lots of information today!
